The concept of service, or Khidma, involves the creation of the necessary social, cultural and economic conditions and structures, in a spirit of solidarity and sharing to empower man to come out of oppression and all forms of violence so that he can rediscover his honour and dignity.
The essence of Service to Humanity is based on solidarity, sharing and brotherhood inspired from the Holy wisdom:
“Wish for others what you wish for yourself”
One of the fundamental teachings of Khidmatul Khadim is Service to Humanity as an expression of love and compassion for all human beings. Khidmatul Khadim teaches us the way to live the prophetic tradition:
“Humanity constitutes a unique family which is taken care of by God. He who is most loved by God is the one who makes himself most useful to this family of God.”
The School has conducted research based on the lives of various figures of service in order to find out a commonality in the thought and action of these people, who come from different countries and diverse social and economic backgrounds, faiths, cultures, religions. Further to this research we have elaborated an Initiatory Way of Service which describes the six essential stages in the making of an agent of service.
