Exhibition - conference: ‘Non Violence: a choice’ - January 2008, Dakar
On this occasion the International Sufi School launched a collection of 24 newly published books on peace. These publications represent the sum of research conducted by the School on various Figures of Peace and the steps of the Initiatory Way to Peace. This peace law represents the steps that must be followed by any person who wishes to become a peacemaker. The director of Douta Seck Hall officially launched this Collection entitled Peace, the Universal Religion.
The School, which is proposing education & training to peace, had the pleasure of welcoming some heads of school and their students over these two days. The commentaries on the exhibition and the workshops held in various parts of Douta Seck Hall, both indoors and outdoors, enabled the visitors to make acquaintance with the concept of peace and express their understanding and aspirations for a society of peace.
After the seminar, meetings were held with the heads of school and their staff to agree a course of action and collaboration further to the exhibition.
Workshops were held on both days to create awareness that the quest for peace is first and foremost an inner and individual endeavour.
The events had television and radio coverage on both days for the general public.
At the end of the seminar, around ten people applied to come and discover the emerging peace village, Pout, where the foundations are being laid for an alternative society through means of peace, in accordance with the teachings of the International Sufi School.
